Attention : Zest Air -This is is Not Fun!

The Department of  Tourism  promo campaign slogan "It's more fun in the Philippines" is trending online at the top spot at the moment. I guess the soft launch campaign and the slogan is a hit. I hope this converts into tourists arrival.

I hear comments saying it is really fun in the Philippines but how about our tourism infrastructures. Are they ready in case the millions of tourists arrive? Hotels? Transportations? Airports?
Airlines? etc.

Speaking of airlines, a very irate friend (he heads a "green", prestigious school's alumni association) sent me this comment on this blog. I guess he was so angry with his bad experience that he posted the comment on a subject not related to his comment. I hope somebody from Zest Air reads this. Here's his comment :

"ZEST air...it is bad enough your flight was extensively delayed...what is worse..arriving night time..and no lights and assistance to passengers alighting from the aircraft on your stairs..causing my 75yo father to misstep and me as well...NO representative whatsover at the arrival/baggage area...you are gonna hear from me in writing..."

This is not fun at all!

Information : Department of Tourism New Promo Campaign and Logo

What do you think of the Department of Tourism  new promo campaign and logo?

I have always believed that the Philippines is one of the best countries to visit as a tourist destination when it comes to natural attractions and great beaches. But more than these attractions it is us the Filipinos and our culture / hospitality that should be promoted. I have been and have worked in some of the  countries in Asia and the Middle East, and I find South East Asians in particular  a friendly lot. The Thais, Singaporeans, Indonesians and specially the Malaysians are friendly people but we Filipinos are friendly and more. The more? I don't know what it is. Maybe we are more fun? Maybe it's our culture. I think this time DOT is hitting it right in their campaign, promoting the people. We can never compete with Singapore or China or Hong Kong when it comes to man-made attractions and shopping but as a people we can. Let's support this campaign of  DOT  by being extra nice and friendly to tourists coming to our country.

Here's my answer to the question above : the campaign idea- two thumbs up!   the logo- one thumb down ( indistinct and no recall- just my personal opinion )

Will appreciate if you can give your comments on the new DOT campaign and logo. Thanks.
